After attending Butera School of Art in Boston, MA, Mr. Eckels finally got a job in a local sign shop in Springfield, MO. He worked for a few different companies, until going on out on his own in 1996. The skills learned "on the job" proved to be the most invaluable to his trade. There are many small things that seperate a real sign artist from the local guy who just bought a sign program and is spitting out vinyl signs for that customer who wanted their order yesterday. It is the attention to detail and the love for the trade that sets us apart from all others. As we have already stated, sign painting is truely an art that can only be fostered by a living person, not a computer. As one of few companies of true sign painters left, we believe it is our personality and love of the craft that weaves itself into our work that transforms your words and names into an art form that will live on long after the name of the artist is forgotten.
We here at Eckels Signcrafters, inc. take pride in the work we produce. We view each project not just as a job but as a chance to further the tradition of a once forgotten craft. It is because of this love of the trade that you receive not just a sign, but a piece of art to display for your company.
